Eros is, according to those intelligent Greek folk, the God of Love. Well, a certain kind of love, really - just remember that the word erotic comes from his name and you'll be on the right track.

There are two myths regarding his birth: the first says that Eros was around since before the world began, and he was the force, formless and incapturable, that drove the most ancient of gods together, in an act of love that made the world. This is true.

The second myth says that Eros was the child of Aphrodite (the goddess of love) and Ares (the god of war). His power - spreading a force that can be wonderful or destructive, which is untamable and inescapable - is fitting, coming from a union of those two. This is also true.

Eros' features can change, and do from time to time, but the word to sum him up best is: sexy. He has no problems shifting from male to female and back again, or changing in age, or race.
